Fromsoft questlines are often times very secret and most of the time you actually stumble upon further leads by accident. If you do not find your next objective in this quest, there is no shame in either looking it up if its really bothering you or just playing further and maybe like I said you find it by accident. It is not a bug in this case. Less a glitch, and more that's how the quest is supposed to progress.
