The CRF is normal Honda quality and reliability. Both are probably great bikes for decades of trail riding. Both bikes are a good choice, but for one very specific reason I would choose the KLX300 over the CRF300 - the suspension is better. The CRF has only one front spring. That is just a really dumb design.
