Hi Guys, I just wanted to share something I have found that works on my JK Wrangler, A few weeks ago the Engine Management Light came on and the car went under powered and staggered when on the throddle. After 2 weeks of stuffing around in the shed I have found how to reset the limp mode. Under the hood, 1. Disconect NEG battery terminal. 2. 1474 posts · Joined 2007. #1 · Apr 18, 2017. A few weeks ago, my CEL came on with the P0520 (Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Malfunction) code and my EVIC would show oil pressure steady at 99 PSI. This is a known issue with the '13 and '14 Wranglers, so I had it replaced. A week later, my oil pressure starts bouncing up and down.I have replaced solenoid valve body ,installed new transmission cooler and replaced the PCM and my jeep still slams into 2cnd gear limp mode. Over $2000 and it still does the same thing. I can reset it by simly turn ignition off/on. Then it shifts fine for 50-100 mikes before it does it again.The check engine light came on with a P0700 code. I've read all the posts here about resetting the TCM and have followed these instructions: disconnect the positive battery lead, connect it to the negative, wait ten hours, turn ignition on without starting and then turn on headlights. Hi guys - I'm having an issue with my TJ that's got me stumped. The jeep is stuck in 2nd gear or what I guess is referred to as "limp mode". It refused to shift up or down (auto transmission). I'm getting a P1698 code for a Failed TCM. I put in a new TCM and checked the wiring harness to see if anything is frayed and everything looks good.I have a similar problem with a 545RFE tranny; Code P0750, car drives in limp mode. BTW, if you want to know about "limp mode" for these trannies, it's a mechanically controlled shift, with your only options being 2nd and 3rd gears by moving the steering column between "1"/"2" and "D" respectively. You no longer have access to 1st or 4th gears.
