Feb 9, 2008 · Problem solved. It appears that the inside of the eyelet of the carrier spring is worn or the post it sits on in the trigger housing is worn, maybe a bit of both. The result is a spring that will slide off the carry assy contact point after one or two discharges. The spring wedges itself between the carrier assy and the receiver wall cavity. Rudolph31 .30-06. Then jam city. Shells wouldn’t load easily using speed load and after I emptied it I stopped using it due to the difficulties getting it to load. Once home I tried to release the bolt while taking it apart and the carrier release button wouldn’t budge. Broke out the screwdrivers and took it apart from the bottom.
