Christchurch Botanic Gardens are pretty simple, but have a few differences than others I’ve visited. The Avon river that surrounds the gardens and the punt rides are a unique addition. The rose garden, dahlia border, Cunningham house, and large trees were my favorites – while the rest was a bit below average in my opinion. With more than 1.1 Million visitors each year the Botanic Gardens are one of the Christchurch's most popular and well-loved attractions. Duration: 2-3 hours. Parking. There are two large public car parks in the Botanic Gardens: Riccarton Avenue entrance. Armagh Street entrance. You are welcome to park in either of these places for up to 180 minutes free of charge Monday to Friday. During the weekend there is no time limit.
