JD 1780 planter questions. I have been thinking about buying a JD 1780 planter with the interplant option, 16-30"corn, 31-15"soybean rows. My main concern is the trash flo ability of the planter. We do chop our cornstalks, then hit them with DMI 530 in the fall.The 1770 has a better lifting system than the 7200 series . The 7200 the cylinders will get out of phase. We have had 12 row 7200, then 16 row 7200 and now 1770nt - 16 row with es sets. We have used Precisions finger pickup and vaccum units and both seed very well.
