I was told to take out the black panel toward the rear of the mower for access. The cable comes from the handles, down through a shroud, into the area above the transmission.This HRX217 is an absolute disappointment. Before 12 months of age - Pull start recoil failed. Clutch would engage at idle on its own. Auto choke failed. Catcher bag stitching failed. before 2 years of age - major oil leak from timing gear shaft. Pull start recoil again. Clutch again.
