After a long weekend of cursing, modifying parts and trying to find a driveshaft, we ended up locating another g240 and leaving the m20 clutch set in it. The bearings are not common so they're really expensive. It's easy to separate the front half of the box from the rear half though. You really need access to a press to do it all properly, and a 30mm thin walled deep socket (I made one) to undo the output shaft nut.
