Currently we have one on a 30B and it's imperative to be completely stopped and push the clutch down far enough to completely disengage the tranny gears and firmly push -- or pull, the lever through its' entire stroke. Usually it's the last 10% where one can feel that it's completely engaging.

The transmission pressure is still too low to activate hi/low change, pro, etc if the engine revs are below around 1100rpm. It goes up to around 140psi at full revs. The hi/low shift appears to operate OK and no signs of slippage. If it is contacting metal and there is no bumper pad, that may be your problem. The bumper is about 1/4" thick and 3/4" in diameter. It has a protrusion that snaps into a hole in the framework.
