Dr. Jim Dahle of White Coat Investor always says: "Intra-specialty differences in pay are bigger than inter-specialty differences." What he means by that is, some people work 1) longer hours, in 2) less-desirable geographic areas, and 3) negotiate tougher contracts than their peers, plus 4) own a part of or their entire own practice.I gotta say... Before you get stuck in going every detail, as an intern you should highlight what you think are the most critical tasks and review that with your resident. Every day test yourself on the order of operations. So on a list of 30+ boxes I would highlight four such as. Order antibiotics. Page X for consult.
Interventional Radiology will take longer to automate. Internal Medicine will be automated too, to a large degree, but not as soon as at least "regular" Radiology.
